Menghormati Makanan di Hari Pangan Sedunia 2020

Hari ini, Jum’at 16 Oktober 2020 bertepatan dengan Hari Pangan Sedunia atau World Food Day. Setiap tahunnya, lebih dari 150 negara yang tergabung dengan The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) menyerukan peringatan ini untuk memberantas kemiskinan & kelaparan di seluruh pelosok dunia.

Warga kelas 5 SD Muhammadiyah 4 Kota Malang turut menyemarakkan kampanye tersebut. Oleh karena itu, Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup kali ini mengambil topik “Menghormati Makanan”. Hal tersebut diambil dari tema besar yang diangkat FAO pada tahun ini, yaitu: Grow, nourish, sustain. Together.

Peserta Didik diajarkan bagaimana peran anak-anak sangat berarti untuk memberantas kelaparan di dunia. Bu Herty, selaku wali kelas 5A menyerukan kepada anak didiknya untuk selalu mensyukuri makanan yang telah tersedia. Meskipun sederhana, menu makanan tersebut berasal dari perjuangan keras petani, pengepul, hingga distributor bangan pangan. 

Saya harap sudah tidak ada lagi anak-anak yang memilah-milah makanan lagi. Karena makan merupakan berkah dari tuhan yang patut kita syukuri. Oleh karena itu sebelum & sesudah makan ada doanya.

Melalui media pembelajaran daring, pengajar kelas 5 memberikan beberapa contoh pembiasaan aktifitas yang dapat anak-anak lakukan dari rumah, seperti membeli bahan pangan segar dari petani setempat, tidak menyisakanan makanan, berbagi makanan kepada yang membutuhkan hingga mencoba berkebun di rumah masing-masing.

Berkarya melalui Poster

Untuk menyemarakkan kampanye hari pangan, Peserta Didik berkreasi membuat poster bertemakan menghormati makanan. Mereka menuangkan ide & harapannya melalui selembar kertas A4 menggunakan berbagai macam media. Ada yang menggunakan cat air, krayon, pensil hingga media digital. Karyanya beragam, beberapa mengangkat pemandangan ladang & perkebunan. Suasana makan bersama di rumah pun mereka tuangkan sebagai inspirasi. Rencananya, poster akan dipamerkan secara virtual pada laman FAO. Kreasi mereka tersebut disandingkan dengan karya anak-anak dari berbagai negara.
