SD Muhammadiyah 4 Kota Malang menyelenggarakan Evaluasi Konservasi Penanaman Pohon di Oro Oro Ombo dengan narasumber Bapak Syamsudin selaku Pengawas SMK & Pembina Sekolah Adiwiyata Kota Malang, Senin (24/2/2020).

Kegiatan ini bertujuan agar Peserta Didik memiliki ketrampilan yang lebih baik dalam dunia konservasi alam. Pak Syam menjelaskan pada saat menanam pohon Matoa di Oro-Oro Ombo, kegiatan tersebut masuk dalam kegiatan konservasi eksitu. Matoa sendiri merupakan jenis tanaman buah langkah yang berasal dari Pulau Papua. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan minggu lalu tersebut tidak hanya bermanfaat bagi warga sekitar yang dapat nilai ekonomis apabila pohon tersebut telah berbuah. Namun juga membantu melestarikan buah asli Indonesia yang belum banyak dikenal oleh masyarakat.

Selain konservasi tanaman, Peserta Didik juga dikenalkan dengan konservasi hewan, pengolahan hasil tanaman seperti buah & umbi-umbian, hingga dampak konservasi terhadap lingkungan. Antusias Peserta Didik untuk mengikuti evaluasi terlihat dari semangat saat berdikusi & pemutaran film.
