Perkemahan Zero Waste, Mengubah Gaya Hidup Sejak Dini

Kegiatan Perkaju/Perjusa merupakan agenda rutin tahunan yang diadakan oleh SD Muhammadiyah 4 Malang. Pada perkemahan kali ini, tema utama yang diangkat ialah Zero Waste. Menurut harfiah yang diakui internasional, zero waste merupakan tujuan etis, ekonomis, efisien, dan visioner. Intinya mengubah gaya hidup dari yang kurang peduli akan dampak sampah terhadap lingkungan, menjadi lebih berpikir ulang untuk menghasilkan sampah dengan memanfaatkan sampah menjadi produk yang bisa dipergunakan kembali. Pola pikir itulah yang coba ditanamkan kepada Siaga & Penggalang SD muhammadiyah 4.

Bekerja sama dengan Fasilitator 3R Pelelolahan Sampah Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kota Malang, Peserta Didik diajarkan pembuatan kompos menggunakan botol bekas & sampah dari kulit jeruk. Menurut Emma (Siaga SD Muhammadiyah 4), dia & regunya antusias menyimak kemudian mempraktekkan proses komposting. “Dalam beberapa hari, sesuai kondisi cuaca sampah ini akan menjadi nutrisi yang baik bagi tanah.” Timpalnya.

Kegiatan lain yang mencerminkan zero waste ialah pada saat sisa makanan Peserta Didik yang tidak habis segera dikubur sehingga proses dekomposting segera berproses.

Sebelumnya sudah diberitahukan melalui surat edaran kepada Wali Murid agar anak-anak tidak membawa sampah non organik seperti botol air mineral & snack. “Banyak hal kecil kita luruskan kembali seperti mencuci piring yang hemat sabun, bagaimana membersihkan diri dengan tidak terlalu menghambur-hamburkan air & kebiasaan yang kurang bijak lainnya yang berdampak pada ekologi. Semuanya kita praktekkan secara langsung.” Ujar M. Amin Taufiqurrohman, Ketua panitia pelaksana.
