Pohon Pepaya, Pohon yang Berbuah Sepanjang Tahun

Apakah kamu tahu buah yang memiliki khasiat yang baik untuk tubuh dan dapat berbuah sepanjang tahun tanpa menunggu musim berbuah? That’s right! Buah pepaya. Buah pepaya mempunyai rasa yang manis dan bertekstur lembut. Selain memiliki kandungan vitamin yang kompleks, buah pepaya memiliki enzim papain. Enzim papain sangat bagus untuk pencernaan tubuh kita. Kalau kamu lagi susah buang air besar, kamu bisa memakan buah pepaya agar buang air besarmu lancar. Daunnya bisa kita temukan di masakan jawa yang bernama urap-urap. Urap-urap adalah hidangan sejenis salad yang berisi daun pepaya dengan bumbu kelapa parut. Penulis pernah mencoba urap-urap pepaya. Sensasi pertama kali kita mencoba adalah rasa pahit dari daun pepaya itu. Namun setelah beberapa kali mencoba, penulis menjadi ketagihan dengan sensasi pahit bercampur rasa gurih dari parutan kelapa. Hmm.. Yummy.

Di Mupat ada 6 pohon pepaya yang berbuah lebat. Pak Wagimin selaku perawat tanaman di sekolah rajin menyiram dan memberi pupuk sehingga buah pepaya dapat tumbuh subur.

Pak Wagimin menanam buah pepaya dari biji yang telah dikeringkan. Buah pepaya yang ada di sekolah itu berusia 4 bulan. Pak Wagimin berpesan agar anak-anak dapat menanam pohon pepaya karena perawatannya mudah.
